The Ambassadeur 1500C and 2500C described in
this section refers to Small Ambassadeur reels produced from 1975 to 1985 (for
Small Ambassadeurs produced after 1985, please refer to the Small ABU Ambassadeur Section).
The design of Small Ambassadeur was enduring. Produced for only a short span of less than 10 years, these Small Ambassadeurs were still being used today, after more than 4 decades; with little design change. This was not surprising, for she was armed with 3 United States Patent (4.003.270, 4.011.774 and 4.042.186) under her belt, with at least 2 of her patented designs adopted by other brands due to its functionality.
Although it was first produced in March 1975, the Ambassadeur 2500C only made to the market in 1976. Featured in the Garcia Fishing Annual, 1976 edition, this beauty was described as the “Superb Addition to the family” to complement the Ambassadeur family as an addition which was not only small and light but was also able to perform as good as her larger siblings.
Since the inception of the Ambassadeur 2500C, she was distributed globally through agents and outlets for about 2 years until the yet smaller and lighter Ambassdeur 1500C was born. It was also at this time that the Ambassadeur 2500C’s production was halted to make room for the Ambassadeur 1500C production. With the Ambassadeur 1500C ceasing her production in March 1979, the Ambassadeur 2500C resumed her production, with smaller quantity only for special orders; to Europe till 1982 and Japan till 1985 respectively.
